Настоящий рыцарский пояс – символ статуса его владельца. Подобные пояса вручались при посвящении в рыцари наряду с золотыми или позолоченными шпорами. После чего посвящаемый получал три символических удара мечом плашмя по спине.
Пояса рыцарей были предметом гордости владельца. Часто отражали какие-либо легенды, связанные с его родом, или события, к которым тот имел отношение.
